Hich's Sittingbourne XI 1 Chatham Town 3, att 100

Hicham Akhazzan joined the Brickies  from Chatham Town and played his first game for us on  Tuesday 11th November 2006. In his time with us he has made over 400 appearances and scored 100 goals.  He was also a member of the Kent Senior Cup winning side of 2010.

Hicham included in his team 5 old boys: Paul Ainsworth, Steve Williams, Joe Dowley, Adam Molloy, and Ollie Brown and the rest of the team was made up of a couple from the first team squad and traillists. .

Chatham’s Lee Cockburn opened the scoring on 21 minutes but Sittingbourne’s new signing Miles Cornwell equalised 3 minutes into the second half with a good header. Chatham retook the lead a minute later through Lee Bremner following a mix up in the Sittingbourne defence and further extended their lead on 63 minutes through Will Palmer. Akhazzan missed a penalty for Sittingbourne and oh how he must have wished he could have added to his goal tally of for the club before he leaves to join Sheppey Utd.

It was great effort by the make shift side who had a goal disallowed for a marginal off-side decision and a great chance went begging.

However a good time was had by all and the fans gave Akhazzan a great send off at the final whistle in recognition of his over 10 years with the club.
