The club would like to offer condolences to the family and friends of Fred Perry who passed away early in July at the age of 82. Fred was a member of the 1958 Sittingbourne team that defeated Ramsgate by 1-0 at Gillingham in the Kent Senior Cup in front of a crowd of just over 10,000.
Fred's playing days were cruelly cut short when he was involved in a car crash with four other Sittingbourne footballers and lost a leg in the accident. Gangrene set in and Doctor's pessimistically told him that he wouldn't live much beyond the age of 50!
Fred's funeral will be held at Bandon Hill Cemetary, Wallington, near Croydon, at 2pm on Friday 5th August.
